Track List to Tide You Over
Hey everybody,
The concert was awesome and transfix-ing, and to have tried to post during it would have been a disservice to me, you, Sufjan, his band, and the world itself.
Here are the songs the man played, in order:
Sister (Seven Swans)
Casimir Pulaski Day (Illinois)
Detroit, Lift Up Your Weary Head! (Michigan)
The Lord God Bird (Unknown)
Dear Mr. Supercomputer (The Avalanche)
The Transfiguration (Seven Swans)
Jacksonville (Illinois)
The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades is Out to Get Us! (Illinois)
John Wayne Gacy, Jr. (Illinois)
A Good Man is Hard to Find (Seven Swans)
Majesty Snowbird (Unknown)
Seven Swans (Seven Swans)
Chicago (Illinois)
The Dress Looks Nice on You (encore, from Seven Swans)
So, for those of you keeping score at home, that's 5 from Illinois, a surprising 5 from Seven Swans, 1 each from Michigan and The Avalanche, and 2 probably unreleased songs about birds. I can't believe he didn't play more songs off Avalanche, and I think it's interesting that he played all those songs off of Seven Swans, especially considering that one's basically a Bible story (The Transfiguration) and another ends with a chorus of "He is the Lord" (Seven Swans).
It was awesome.
