Equal Time
I just realized that I had two posts in a row that ragged on Democrats/Liberals. In an effort to be as fair and balanced (has Fox News spoiled that phrase or what?) as possible, I will now rag on some Republican/Conservative issue:
Well, many of them can be described as pompous...Republicans, I mean. Also, they constantly protect corporate interests over individual interests, causing unnecessary crushing of the Little Guy.
See? Fair and Balanced.

I'm going to go ahead and throw my hat into the ring...a little late, but I'll still do my best.
I do now know exactly what it is about this whole Schiavo situation (I have only read one article about it online, and the article dealt mainly with her consuming the Eucharist on Easter Sunday).
However, I have a thought on the subject: the division that you speak of (between democrats and conservatives) is quite arbitrary. It is a life issue and it will be dealt with by the powers that want the press. The life of Terry Schiavo is not getting any better by the press coverage or by the arguments waged in her “favor.” The only result that all of this is having can be seen in the wedge that it is driving between all people in our country: it is separating us by religion, which in my opinion, is exactly how all chances for witnessing and co-existence are destroyed.
Terry Schiavo's life is nearing an end and all that the people seem to care about is motivating their political base. How sad.
Another note: money troubles...tell me about it. I now have to send home a large chunk of my salary to the states so that I can pay for my $45,000 college loan. Great education...maybe. Great debt...check. How sad.
But at least I know that I am helping out some wealthy investor who decides to buy stock in a College Loan Liquidation Corp., for they are the best companies to buy stock in. Know why? Because the loans are backed by the government, so if I, for some reason, can't pay them back Uncle Sam picks up the bill. Good idea? Not at all. Why? Because the loan companies are privatized and can set their own standards, which can be pretty overwhelming. What does that mean for me? Well they tell me to pay, I say I can't and they say, "Okay, well there go any privileges that you thought you had with us. Plus we are going to put this on your credit history. Oh, by the way if things go really bad and you have to declare bankruptcy, we will not forgive your loans. But that doesn't really matter now does it, because your beloved Bush and the administrations that be have made it impossible for you to go into bankruptcy. Good luck with that first house before 35 kid."
Sorry. Finances make me angry...I've never had a piggy bank that held anything but pennies because I always liberated quarters for the snickers and now I'm wishing that i never had a sweet tooth.
I won't even get into health care and the fact that I didn't have any for the four years of college and am still paying off the bills for the $1,500 I had to shell out for a few fillings and a root canal this summer. None of this is happiness.
Spring flowers and disc golf is though...take care and once again, I apologize. I am not a little guy, but I still feel crushed.

Well said, Dan. There are about 100 financial issues I could get into that frustrate me. I was one of the lucky ones, even -- I didn't have any school loans (at least until I got one later in life, which enabled me to get a credit history).
The credit/debt system is a problem, and the Republicans aren't helping. The sad part is a bunch of people are abusing the bankruptcy system and we non-abusers have to pay for it. It's enough to make you want to thieve someone's identity, because everyone else seems to be doing it.
And I too am disgusted that Shaivo has been turned into a political issue, used to mobilize and enflame a constituency. It's driving me nuts all of a sudden, in fact.
